#12 The Raising Caines

Image
When talking to friends it is not uncommon for our conversations to turn to food. We usually talk about what we ate last night or what we will be eating soon. But something that is always mentioned is Raising Canes. Hearing how great that fast food restaurant was from so many different people really made me want to try it. So one day I decided to do just that and dine at a Canes. To say I was disappointed was an understatement. While I didn't hate the experience it was nothing like how it was described to me. I ordered their chicken fingers and without exaggeration, the chicken was extremely dry. Alone they are so hard to eat because they taste terrible. Their saving grace was only Cane's signature sauce. The sauce is what made the chicken edible. It masks the taste and helps with the dryness. The fries from Canes were also mediocre. They had nothing special going for them and again what made them taste better was the sauce. I was so disappointed by what I offered that I enjoy...

#14 My favorite fast food restaurant

Image
Hello everyone! Yesterday when I went out shopping it came to a point where I got very hungry. In most cases, I would just wait to get home to make myself something to eat. But on my way there I spotted a Jack in the Box. Jack has to be one of my favorite fast food places, I normally don't eat out but when I see one I just can't help but want a burger from there.  I love the restaurant itself because they are always clean. It seems like the workers care and are always friendly to me no matter what Jack I visit. When I order I always get the same thing, the Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger. I don't think many places get a bacon burger right but Jack in the box absolutely does. Its blend of flavors is almost perfect and it always fills me up. Their curly fries are among the best and their drink choice is varied. I often get an iced coffee because I love how it tastes. I genuinely think Jack in the Box is one of those fast-food restaurants that everyone has to visit. I really love ...

#13 Describing Food

When thinking of my most memorable food, there is only one that comes to mind. I have consistently had it as my breakfast every single day for my entire life, and that is fried eggs. While I am not consistent at making them good all the time I just love how my parents make them. I love the consistency that the eggs always are. They aren't too solid to where it's like eating egg flavored Jell-O, but they also aren't too liquid where they are just too runny. I enjoy the soft bite that is the same all throughout the egg. I love that the yolk stays runny so that it can cover the cooked whites in it's distinct flavor. The slight amount of salt allows for the eggs to get a mouth watering flavor that to me is almost unmatched by any other breakfast option. My parents haven't just made eggs by themselves. They also include a side of either two slices of bologna or two sausages fried in the same oil as the eggs. The fired sides both have a hint of the egg flavor to them that...

Healthy eating in college

Unhealthy foods like that can often be forgiven for their convenience; but, there are better options. Online meal preps or following healthy recipes. There are online services like HomeChef where you can pick meals that you want to prepare and they bring the ingredients right to your door. It is a reliable service that's inexpensive and easy to use. It is a convenient service and it can get someone into the habit of preparing their own food. Another similar service is EveryPlate which does the same thing. If meal preps aren't your thing online recipes can also be found anywhere and many are very cheap and easy to make, perfect for a college student.  It is always good to maintain a healthy diet, especially in college. A guide to the egg.

Image
Many people when they get into college and begin moving out don't know many essential skills needed to live alone, One of them being cooking. Since college students often don't have much money to spend here is a budget-friendly recipe. For this meal, we will be making eggs sunny side up. I personally like to use olive oil but you are free to use any substitute. I will usually put just enough oil to cover the majority of the bottom of a pan. To begin warming the oil turn the heat of your stove to medium-high. After about a minute of letting the oil heat up turn down your stove to less than medium heat, and you will be getting ready to place the eggs in. On the side of the stove lightly tap your eggs 2-3 times until there is a crack through the egg. You will then dig your thumbs into the eggshell to separate the two halves. Make sure you do this close to the pan to not splash the hot oil. When the egg comes out of the shell be careful to not let any of the shell fall into the pa...
